My current project is the creation of 100 pieces of sushi to be exhibited at the Yaletown Roundhouse Community Center on May 16, for one day/night only here in Vancouver. I'm really excited now that a number of these are complete. I've still got about 80 to do but I'm making them fast, and can't wait to see them all on display in a big grid!

Here are the first 14 finished pieces:

New Sushi Painting Series

I am participating in a group show at the Roundhouse Community Centre on May 16. My concept for the piece is 100 small paintings of sushi, each one 6” x 6”, laid out in a 10x10 grid. I have made these paintings previously and I enjoyed them, so I am really stoked about making this many of them.
I work in batches. This is the initial ink drawings for the first 10. I will paint these together, then finish them together, and move on to the next set. I will be scanning them and posting an in-progress grid as the work progresses!
I plan to sell the panels individually for $20 a piece.

Some New Pieces in Progress

I have an upcoming show at a coffee shop in my neck of the woods (Kitsilano, Vancouver) starting next month. Actually, I have several shows happening soon. This is the first though.

It's a more casual show, and I've been experimenting with my technique a lot and creating lots of bright pieces with acrylics. The colours are really coming through and I'm liking them more than with oils.

Here are the pieces, in progress (they're all at least half done):
